Objective: Strengthen civil society organizations & Community Based Organisations and their ability to engage in policy dialogues and influence decision-makers

Results Obtained :

  • CSOs have enhanced institutional capacity and strengthened technical capacity for sustainable natural resource management, inclusive conservation, and implementation of human rights-based approaches
  • CSOs drive change towards inclusive conservation, sustainable natural resource management, enhanced civic space, and improved human wellbeing through advocacy, engagement with policy makers, and networking, and by using a representative voice.
  • Rights-holders, in particular Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs), women, youth, and marginalised groups, are aware of their rights, empowered to act, and have the capacity to claim their rights.
  • Rights-holders, in particular IPLCs, women, youth, and marginalised groups, organise, engage in sustainable natural resource management, influence decision-making processes, and benefit equitably from natural resources.
  • Duty bearers have enhanced capacity to sustainably manage natural resources and protect the environment, fulfil human rights, and facilitate participatory decision-making processes.
  • Duty bearers legislate and implement laws, policies and regulations for sustainable natural resource management and provide political spaces for inclusive participation of CSO, communities, and rights holders in decision-making processes.
